Full Moon Astrology 2026–2027: Dates, Signs and Meaning

At a full moon the Sun and Moon stand on opposite sides of the sky, and astrologers read it as a moment of culmination: something reaches its peak, comes into view or asks to be let go.

Times are Eastern Time. Phase times use Jean Meeus’s Astronomical Algorithms (to within a minute or two), the Moon’s sign and degree come from our chart engine, and eclipses are found with Meeus’s eclipse method; very faint penumbral eclipses can be missed. Full moon names are the traditional North American ones.

How to use a full moon

A full moon falls about two weeks after each new moon, when the Moon is opposite the Sun and fully lit. Traditionally it is a time to take stock of what the month has brought, to finish or release something, and to notice feelings that have been building.

Many people keep it simple: a few minutes outside looking at the Moon, three things written down that went better than expected, one thing they are ready to stop carrying. The sign the full moon falls in suggests the theme.

When a full moon falls close to the Moon’s nodes it becomes an eclipse. Astrologers treat eclipses as louder versions of the same theme, with effects said to unfold over the following months.
