What is a moon sign?
Your moon sign is the zodiac sign the Moon was in when you were born. Astrologers read it as your emotional side: what comfort looks like to you, what you need when things are hard, and how you look after people.
Do I need my birth time to find my moon sign?
Usually not. The Moon spends about two and a half days in each sign, so the date alone gives the answer most of the time. On a day when the Moon changes sign, the time decides it, and the calculator tells you when that happens.
Why does the birthplace help?
Your birth time is local time. The place gives us its time zone, including daylight saving on that date, so we can turn your birth time into the exact moment and check the Moon’s position then.
What is the difference between my sun sign and moon sign?
The Sun sign comes from your birthday and describes your core identity. The Moon moves much faster, so your moon sign is often different, and it describes your inner, emotional life.
