Aries wants to go; Taurus wants to know where, why and whether there will be snacks. These neighboring signs share very little on paper. Aries is cardinal fire, quick and initiating, ruled by Mars. Taurus is fixed earth, patient and comfort-minded, ruled by Venus. Fixed signs are traditionally the ones that sustain and protect what already exists, which can feel like a brake to someone who lives on momentum. Yet the contrast is useful.
